Tailwheel Transition Training
$200/hour for the aircraft $109/hour for the instructor
Flying a tailwheel airplane demands that a pilot develop superior stick and rudder skills. You can’t competently fly a tailwheel airplane without mastering the flight controls. Even if you have no intention of flying a tailwheel airplane regularly, you will see your tricycle-gear landings improve dramatically by gaining tailwheel experience.
Experience normal and crosswind takeoffs, three-point and wheel landings, and go-around procedures, all meeting the requirements of 61.31(i).
Our tailwheel course is intended for certificated pilots looking to add a tailwheel endorsement to their existing certificate. The course will average 8 hours of flight training and 4 hours of ground training (Tailwheel Ground School & Pre- and Post-Flight briefings), allowing you to feel proficient and confident in your ability to fly tailwheel aircraft. Priced at our hourly rate of $200 (dry) for the aircraft and $109 for the instructor. (Prices subject to change.)
Take your flying skills to the next level with a tailwheel endorsement. Taught by experienced instructors in our Super Decathlon.
