INTERNATIONAL

INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security requires all International students to conduct all their flight training only at a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) flight school which has been approved under Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 141. Rexair Flight School is an FAR Part 141 FAA school approved for private pilot training.

The M-1 Visa is required for International students taking flight training in the United States. The M-1 allows you to stay in the U.S. for up to 12 months; it can be extended, if needed for training. Note: The U.S. tourist visa is NOT allowed for flight training in the United States.

APPLICATION PROCESS

The first step in applying for an M-1 Visa is filling out the required flight school pre-admission application; this can be done contacting us via email at [email protected] and we will send you the pre-admision application for you to fill up and send it back to us. It is very important that you list all the information requested in order to have the SEVIS I-20 Form properly completed by our admissions office. Be sure the information given matches your passport identification exactly. Upon receipt of the completed application information and the required admissions fee paid, a Rexair Admissions Officer will personally contact you. He or she will guide you through the Visa process with detail instructions to prepare you for the U.S. Consulate or Embassy interview.

I-20 SEVIS (STUDENT AND EXCHANGE VISITOR INFORMATION SYSTEM) FORM

The SEVIS I-20 Form is an electronic government system to track International students coming to the United States for educational purposes. The application provides information on the student and their dependents. Rexair admissions office takes the information provided by you on the Rexair application to fill out the SEVIS I-20 computer form on your behalf. Once this is done, your visa process can be started.

PROCESSING FEES

You will be expected to pay four different processing fees during your Visa process.
1. Flight School Administration Fee – $200.00 (Non-Refundable)
2. Flight School Security Deposit – $300.00 (Applied to Program at completion)
3. SEVIS I-901 Visa Applicant Fee – $350.00 (Non-Refundable)
4. TSA Training Request Applicant Fee – $130.00 (Non-Refundable)

CREDIT CARD PAYMENT

Please complete the credit card authorization section of the Rexair application form and submit this information (see credit card info link on top of this page). The credit card authorization allows the flight school to charge your credit card $500.00 for the following items; $200.00 Administration Fee, $300.00 Security Deposit, plus this will also allow the flight school to pay for shipping of your I-20 document and/or training materials to you. Should you cancel your enrollment application process or not show up for your scheduled arrival date, you will forfeit part or all of your administration/security deposit (see cancellation section).

TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION (TSA) TRAINING REQUEST

To enter the United States the International student must complete a TSA training request at www.flightschoolcandidates.gov. When you open the ‘TSA – Alien Flight Student Program’ website, click on “Create Student Account” located on the top right side and follow the steps. There are four TSA training categories; you will be training under Category 3. Also, you will be asked to pay the TSA fee of $130.00, which is done online at www.pay.gov/paygov. The TSA fee can be paid after you have received approval for your M-1 Student Visa.

The TSA training request must be completed and granted prior to starting your flight training program. Therefore, it is very important that you begin the process of getting your TSA clearance as soon as you decide that you will be doing your training at Rexair. Completing the TSA process BEFORE you arrive will ensure a quicker start to your program. Do not start your fingerprinting requirement until TSA notifies you to do so. If you do not complete the fingerprinting requirement prior to arriving in the United States, this may delay commencement of your training program up to 45 days.

POSITIVE TRAINING ACCOUNT

Once you are at the training school, you are required to maintain a positive training balance on your account at all times. The required Security Deposit that you paid prior to entering the United States is NOT part of your training funds, but may be applied at the end of your training program towards your final bill assuming all other financial accounts are paid-in-full.

The Security Deposit you paid will be held by the school until the completion of your training program or you withdrawal from training, but it is NOT part of the required positive account training balance.
