INTERNATIONAL STUDENT INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security requires all international students to conduct all flight training only at a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) flight school. This school must be approved under Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 141. At Rexair Flight School, we hold FAR Part 141 FAA approval for private pilot training, ensuring you meet all federal requirements.
International students need an M-1 Visa to take flight training in the United States. This visa allows you to stay in the U.S. for up to 12 months; you can extend it if your training requires more time. Please note: the U.S. tourist visa does not permit flight training in the United States.
APPLICATION PROCESS
To begin your M-1 Visa application, first complete our flight school pre-admission application. Simply contact us via email at [email protected], and we will send it to you. Please fill out all requested information completely; this helps our admissions office properly complete your SEVIS I-20 Form. Ensure the information you provide exactly matches your passport identification. Once we receive your completed application and the required admissions fee, a Rexair Admissions Officer will personally contact you. They will guide you through the Visa process, providing detailed instructions to prepare you for your U.S. Consulate or Embassy interview.
I-20 SEVIS (STUDENT AND EXCHANGE VISITOR INFORMATION SYSTEM) FORM
The SEVIS I-20 Form is part of an electronic government system that tracks international students coming to the United States for educational purposes. This application gathers information about you and any dependents. At Rexair’s admissions office, we use the information you provide on your Rexair application to complete the SEVIS I-20 computer form on your behalf. After we complete this, you can start your visa process.
PROCESSING FEES
You will be expected to pay four different processing fees during your Visa process:
1. Flight School Administration Fee – $200.00 (Non-Refundable)
2. Flight School Security Deposit – $300.00 (Applied to Program at completion)
3. SEVIS I-901 Visa Applicant Fee – $350.00 (Non-Refundable)
4. TSA Training Request Applicant Fee – $130.00 (Non-Refundable)
CREDIT CARD PAYMENT
Please complete the credit card authorization section of the Rexair application form and submit this information. You can find the credit card info link at the top of this page. This authorization allows the flight school to charge your credit card $500.00 for the following items:
- $200.00 Administration Fee
- $300.00 Security Deposit
With this, it also allows the flight school to pay for shipping your I-20 document and/or training materials to you. If you cancel your enrollment application process or do not show up for your scheduled arrival date, you will forfeit part or all of your administration/security deposit. Please refer to the cancellation section for details.
TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION (TSA) TRAINING REQUEST
To enter the United States, international students must complete a TSA training request before starting their flight training program. Here’s how:
- Visit www.flightschoolcandidates.gov.
- On the ‘TSA – Alien Flight Student Program’ website, click “Create Student Account” (top right) and follow the steps.
- You will train under Category 3 (out of four TSA training categories).
- Pay the $130.00 TSA fee online at www.pay.gov/paygov. You can pay this fee after receiving your M-1 Student Visa approval.
It’s crucial to begin the TSA clearance process as soon as you decide to train at Rexair. Completing it BEFORE you arrive ensures a quicker program start. Do not begin fingerprinting until TSA instructs you. Failing to complete fingerprinting before arriving in the U.S. could delay your training program’s start by up to 45 days.

U.S. CONSULATE OR EMBASSY APPOINTMENT
Once you receive your I-20 via Federal Express (FedEx) courier service, you must pay the SEVIS I-901 Fee at www.fmjfee.com/i901fee. You MUST pay this fee before making an appointment with the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your home country. Bring your signed I-20 form from the training school and proof of I-901 payment. If you have any questions about the I-901 Form, visit the I901 FAQ page at www.ice.gov/sevis/i901. The Embassy or Consulate will take your picture for their records during your appointment.
All Visa applications require the following items:
- Non-Immigrant Visa application FORM DS-160 must be filled out and signed online at https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/.
- Current Passport or other travel documents.
- Photograph – Please check with your nearest Consulate or Embassy for specifications before getting your picture taken.

ENROLLMENT CANCELLATION
If you choose to cancel your enrollment application process, change your arrival dates, or do not show up as scheduled, you will forfeit part or all of your admissions/security deposit as follows:
Up to 30 days in advance: $400.00 REFUND
29-15 days in advance: $300.00 REFUND
14-0 days in advance: You forfeit the entire deposit.
TRAVEL PLANS AND U.S. PORT OF ENTRY
Once you complete all the above procedures and purchase your airline tickets, you are ready to enter the United States at a Port-of-Entry (POE). You MUST provide Rexair with your travel arrangement details. Email us the following flight information: airline name, flight number, arrival airport, arrival date, and flight arrival time. If you would like Rexair staff to pick you up, please let us know; a charge will apply for this service depending on your arrival airport. Please note that you must complete Form I-94 onboard the airplane when arriving at your airport of entry. Form I-94 is the only U.S. government document that uses the European method of recording dates: dd/mm/yyyy. Please watch out for this.
POSITIVE TRAINING ACCOUNT
Once you are at the training school, you must maintain a positive training balance on your account at all times. The required Security Deposit you paid before entering the United States is NOT part of your training funds, but we may apply it at the end of your training program towards your final bill, assuming you have paid all other financial accounts in full.
The school will hold the Security Deposit you paid until you complete your training program or withdraw from training, but it is NOT part of the required positive account training balance.
